Magic shows at Santa Barbara library branches this week

The Santa Barbara Public Library System is hosting a series of magic shows this week with magician Shawn McMaster.
It's all part of the Dig Into Reading Summer Reading Program.
The event is free and will be held at various library branches throughout the week.

Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a fire that broke out Monday near Calle Mariposa Reina in Gaviota was accidental.
They say it was most likely related to a passing train.
The fire burned about two acres.

Sheriff's officals find panga boat on Tajiguas Beach

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's officials say they recovered a panga boat in the county.

2-3 acre brush fire contained

Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a two to three acre fire was contained Saturday afternoon.
The fire broke out on Palmer Road near Cat Canyon. Crews included four engines, a dozer, water tender, and a helicopter.
The cause is under investigation.

Inmate death at Santa Barbara County Jail

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's office has released information about the death of inmate.
Marcos D. Garza, 54, of Santa Maria, was transported from the Santa Barbara County Jail to a local hospital due to a medical emergency.
