The future of the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society was the main topic at its annual members' meeting on Monday.

The FBI and local law enforcement agencies are looking for the person or persons responsible for a couple of bank robberies that happened less than two weeks apart on the Central Coast.
The latest occurred last Friday at the Bank of America in Atascadero on Capistrano Avenue.

The Regional Transit Authority kicked off its beach shuttle service Friday.
The shuttle runs every Tuesday through Saturday.
Locals can catch three different buses.
The buses pick up in Paso Robles, Templeton, and Atascadero, and they drop off in Morro Bay and Cayucos.

Officials at the California Men's Colony say both inmates involved in an attack there on Tuesday are being treated as suspects until the investigation is finished.
Damon Moralesallen, 28, and Eric Guevara, 29, were involved in the incident, but it is unknown who initiated the attack.
Moralesallen was taken to a local hospital for his injuries and was later released back to the prison.
