New research suggests toddlers may learn better when they're in a familiar environment, such as a high chair, and are allowed to get as messy as they want.
The study from the University of Iowa found toddlers learned new words for things like applesauce and pudding when they could play with it..
In other words, let them make an absolute mess!
In the study, 16-month-olds were given 14 nonsolid objects, mostly food and drink.

Women who test negative for the breast cancer gene may still be at an increased risk for the disease.
Researchers found women in families with a BRCA-2 mutation are four times more likely to develop breast cancer, even if they test negative. It's possible these women inherit other things than the gene that increase the odds of breast cancer.
