Federal and local law enforcement officers made 16 arrests Wednesday as part of a year-long investigation into a suspected drug trafficking organization that operated in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties.

The investigation began in 2011. Detectives previously arrested three people during searches on September 18.

They are still searching for three suspects, identified as Jesus Alejandro Alcaraz-Martinez, 24, of Atascadero, Edgar Paul Alvarez-Rendon, 24, of Paso Robles, and Melanie Wilson, 39, of Paso Robles. [pictured]

The Central Coast Safe Streets Task Force seized drugs with a street value of $100,000 during today's operation. That's on top of $80,000 in drugs found in September.
