2 people dead in San Francisco Bay Area house fire

PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two people have died in a San Francisco Bay Area house fire.

Police and fire officials in Palo Alto say the fire was reported at about 7 p.m. Friday night and was quickly extinguished and confined to the single home, but two people were found dead inside.

The house on Embarcadero Road is about two miles northeast of Stanford University on the eastern side of Palo Alto near U.S. 101.

No further details on the fire or the victims has been released.
