2013 Jewish Film Festival wraps up in San Luis Obispo

The 2013 Jewish Film Festival is wrapping up its third consecutive San Luis Obispo event.

The festival kicked-off Saturday night with an opening reception at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art.

Sunday, many films were showing at the Palm Theater, including "Broken Promise" and "Music Man Murray."

There was also question and answer sessions with filmmakers.

Lauren Bandari, the festival's co-director, says, "It's really been an enormous showing of community coming together. Jewish, non-Jewish, just enjoying film, and celebrating the humanity that's betrayed in all the movies we're showing."

Bandari says the festival has been bursting out of the seams with community response and awareness.

"In line with connecting people, the Jewish Film Festival does just that. It connects our local community, our local Jewish community, but also connects the community at large in understanding Jewish experience through film, and it's a way to link art, music, film, heritage, culture, all wrapped up in one little weekend."
