The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County recently received a donation of $220,000 from must! charities for its "Real Food for Real Children" program.
The program is aimed at giving healthy meals to children during the summer months when school is out of session.
The donation will help expand the number of kids the program serves from 500 to 2,500 kids for the next two years.
More than 6,000 children in in Northern San Luis Obispo County receive free or reduced lunches during the school year.
