7 hurt as LA County sheriff's car, minivan collide

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say an accident involving a sheriff's patrol car in downtown Los Angeles has injured seven people, four seriously.

Fire officials say the patrol car and a minivan collided at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday near the Olvera Street tourist attraction.

The minivan overturned.

The patrol car's driver and six people in the minivan were hurt and firefighters had to pry some victims from the wreckage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
