It's billed as the largest trade show between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and it happened here on the Central Coast.
About 125 local businesses, including KSBY, were at the Santa Maria Fairpark for the 27th Annual Business Trade Show.
For many of the businesses, this was a big opportunity to showcase what they're all about.
"Networking. Letting people know you do have a local choice," said Ron Smith, owner of Smith's Alarms Electronics, Inc. in Nipomo.
And that's one of the main reasons why Smith brought his business to this year's show. "I'm a local businessman. What is made here, stays here," added Smith.
From alarms, to home theater systems, people can take a peek at what he offers.
Just on the other side of the building was Inge Garvin who owns Salon Studio 23 in Santa Maria. Garvin said a lot of her business comes from this trade show; something she participates in every year. And in an economy like this one, that's good news.
"It brings excitement and the girls are excited to be apart of it, you know, and clients," said Garvin.
At Garvin's booth, they demonstrated different hairstyles, hoping to attract business.
"We have a small town community and a lot of our business is built on those long term relationships, building relationships in the community, and then you have those repeat customers. So this type of show just fosters that," said Marcy Lariz of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Showcasing services wasn't the only thing going on here, but also building connections with other business owners.
"That's why I need to get out here, and that's why the other businesses are out here. When you're small, these small shows, believe it or not, they're not small shows," said Smith.
Each booth owner is a member of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
