Tancy Aldridge scored a game-high eight goals to lead the Cabrillo High girls water polo team to a 15-10 win over Nipomo to open Arroyo Grande High's Winter Classic on Friday.
The Conquistadores led 8-1 at halftime behind six goals from Aldridge, who signed a national letter of intent with Cal State Bakersfield recruit back in November.
Natalie Wilkie netted four goals for Cabrillo, while Kayle Menjivar added two more.
Ashley Codorniz led the Titans with five goals, all of which came in the second half. SamI Baker added a goal for Nipomo.
The game served as a rematch of last year's Los Padres League championship game that Cabrillo won for the program's 15th league title.
The Winter Classic features eighteen varsity teams, including nine from the Central Coast. Games are taking place at Arroyo Grande, Righetti and Nipomo High Schools through Saturday.
The title game is set for Saturday at 4pm at AG High.
