Robbie Berwick scored a team-high 23 points to lead the Atascadero High boys basketball team to a 64-46 home win over rival Paso Robles on Wednesday night.
The Greyhounds improved to 6-2 in Pac 7 League play and 13-8 overall. They remain tied for second place with St. Joseph and 1.5 games behind first place Righetti. The Bearcats fell to 2-7 in league and 6-16 for the year.
Berwick, the Hounds junior point guard, added 4 assists and 2 steals. Brady Youngquist poured in 10 points to go with 3 steals, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Jared Stuedemann tallied 7 points and 6 rebounds, while Ryan O'Connell had 9 points and 5 rebounds.
Jaylon Davis led Paso Robles with 23 points, while Josh Wilson-Murry finished with 14.
Atascadero plays at Arroyo Grande on Friday.
Matt Willkomm poured in 24 points, including 16 in the first half, to lead the Arroyo Grande boys to a 77-34 victory at Pioneer Valley on Wednesday.
The senior guard helped AG take a 23-8 lead after the first quarter and 45-19 advantage into the half.
Cobe Williams and Brennan Rivera had 8 points apiece, while Andrew Midyett added 7 for the Eagles. AG is now 5-4 in Pac 7 play and 16-7 overall.
The Eagles hit 27 of their 39 free throws in the game.
The Panthers were led by Andrew Madrigal, who scored 10 points. PV dropped to 1-8 in league and 3-17 overall.
The Panthers host St. Joseph on Friday.
