Braves down Eagles in LPL opener

The Eagles overcame a 12 point first half deficit, but faded down the stretch to drop their Los Padres League opener at home to Lompoc 58-50 on Tuesday night.

The Templeton boys dropped to 0-1 in league and 4-4 overall, while the Braves improved to 1-0 in league and 2-3 for the season.

Andy Garretson led the Eagles with 14 points.

Templeton led 29-28 at the half after falling behind by as many as 12 in the first 16 minutes of play. Lompoc led 41-40 after three quarters before pulling away in the final eight minutes.

Templeton hosts Santa Maria on Thursday night.
