Brush fire breaks out in hills of Glendale

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) - Southern California firefighters are battling a new brushfire in the hills of Glendale.

The erupted north of State Route 134 near Chevy Chase Canyon and has burned close to structures.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says the blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. Friday.

There are four helicopters responding to the scene.

KCAL-TV reports immediate evacuations are underway in the vicinity.
