The San Luis Coastal Unified School District has announced plans to cut bus transportation to its high schools.
District leaders say they had to cut $4.2 million from the budget.
About 300 high school students are affected, but administrators say they are working to get them city bus passes.
"We'll make sure that we send home information, where to access buses, how to get bus passes, get free bus passes, so we have some work to do between now and mid-August but we'll get it done," said Rick Robinett of the San Luis Coastal Unified School District.
The cuts affect kids at Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo High Schools, as well as pacific beach continuation.
