Bus strikes bicyclist in Santa Maria

A bicyclist suffered moderate injuries when she was hit by a bus in Santa Maria Friday afternoon.
It happened at around 1:45 pm at the intersection of Broadway and Betteravia.
Police say Ana Bustillos, 42, of Santa Maria, rode her bicycle through the intersection against a red light. She was struck by a SMAT bus. There were no passengers on the bus at the time, and the driver was not hurt.
