Cal Poly stopped a four game home losing streak with a 69-64 win over UC Riverside on Saturday night. The win moves the Mustangs to 10-16, 6-7 in the Big West. The Highlanders drop to 8-19, 3-10.
Chris Eversley scored a game-high 22 points on 5 for 11 shooting, he was 3 for 4 on three pointers. Dave Nwaba and Michael Bolden chipped in 13 points apiece for Cal Poly. It was a season high for Bolden who made 4 of 5 three pointers.
The Mustangs made just 8 of 29 field goals (28 percent) in the first half, but held an 11-2 edge on the offensive glass while taking a 29-26 lead into the break.
Cal Poly made more free throws (27) than UC Riverside attempted (21) while shooting 77 percent from the foul line.
The fifth place Mustangs play at UC Davis (3-9) on Thursday.
