California Valley shooting suspect sentenced Tuesday

Califronia Valley woman sentenced for stepson's shooting

A California Valley woman who shot and killed her stepson was sentenced Tuesday.

A judge sentenced Gina Mayborn, 56, to one year in county jail, with time served, plus five years probation and a $500 fine.

Mayborn pleaded no contest in October to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her stepson.

She claimed the shooting was self-defense in order to save her husband's life.
