Local first responders have two new tools to help them in emergency situations.
CALSTAR unveiled two new aircraft Thursday as part of a plan to upgrade its entire fleet.
One is a state-of-the-art helicopter known for its safety features.
It will be stationed in Santa Maria, according to CALSTAR president and CEO, Lynn Malmstrom.
CALSTAR also unveiled a new plane for when emergency crews need to travel longer distances.
CALSTAR is a non-profit air ambulance company that has been in existence for nearly 30 years. It has been on the Central Coast for 10 years.
