The Central Coast Green Team meets Monday night to talk about a new solar power plant in Santa Barbara County.

"First Solar" will build the proposed 40-megawatt, utility-scale plant on Kirschenmann Road in Cuyama.

It would produce enough electricity for 13,000 homes and it would displace 25,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases each year, equivalent to taking 4,900 cars off the road.

You can learn more about the Cuyama Solar Array Project at Monday night's meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Meeting Location:
IHOP
202 Nicholson Ave., Santa Maria
