Charges filed against driver accused of causing crash that injured 2 children

Charges have been filed against the woman accused of causing a solo rollover accident that injured her children last Sunday morning in Santa Maria. Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced Wednesday that Soledad Garcia Rodriguez, 32, has been charged with four felony counts, including two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, and two counts of felony child endangerment. It is also alleged that her 7-year-old son suffered great bodily injury in the crash on Simas Road in Santa Maria just before 7 a.m. Her 17-month-old son was also injured. California Highway Patrol says Rodriguez rolled her Honda Civic after she made an unsafe turn. Rodriguez was arrested for felony DUI. Her two boys were taken to the hospital. Other charges against Rodriguez include driving without a license, a misdemeanor, and driving a motor vehicle while using a wireless telephone without a hands-free devise. Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
