Four people arrested in connection to a murder case in Santa Maria were charged on Wednesday.

Ramon Maldonado, 37, and Reyes Gonzales, 42, were charged with murder with special circumstances, including torture and being part of a criminal street gang.

Carmen Cardenas, 28, and Pedro Torres, 54, were charged with being accessories to murder after the fact.

The four were arrested on Tuesday, after investigators found the body of Santa Maria resident, Anthony Ibarra, 28, in the back of a U-Haul truck parked on an Orcutt street.

Santa Maria Police say the murder is connected to a crime scene found at a house on the corner of Blosser and Donovan Roads in Santa Maria on Monday afternoon.
