CHP officers identify driver and two other passengers in deadly rollover crash

The California Highway Patrol has identified the driver, as well as two other passengers in the deadly rollover crash Sunday morning.

They say 19-year-old Sanam Azernoon of Calabasas was driving southbound on Highway 1 near Education Drive. Azernoon was driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Police say Azernoon drove her vehicle off the roadway into an embankment. The car then overturned several times.

None of the passengers in the back of the car were wearing seat belts. As a result, a 17-year-old Encino male who hasn't been identified because he is a juvenile, sustained minor injuries but remained inside the vehicle. 18-year-old William Brabender of Woodland Hills was fully ejected from the car and sustained major injuries. 19-year-old Eric Schaffer was possibly ejected from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.

A 17-year-old Encino girl was partially ejected from the vehicle and died during the collision. She has not been identified.

Police say they don't suspect alcohol played a role in the accident.
