According to the California Highway Patrol, major traffic in San Luis Obispo and Pismo Sunday was not necessarily because of any traffic accidents.
Officials say Highway 101 was packed with cars all day. They believe it's because more people are on the road following the Fourth of July holiday.
There was one minor accident Sunday afternoon that didn't improve traffic conditions, but officials say it wasn't the cause of bumper to bumper traffic.
At one point, traffic was stopped from Madonna Road to Pismo Beach.
