City council race comes down to 2 votes

The Santa Barbara County Clerk-Recorder's office on Tuesday released certified results from Santa Maria's November 6 city council race.

The results show Terri Zuniga received the most votes followed by incumbent Bob Orach, with just two votes separating Orach from third-place candidate Etta Waterfield. There were two seats up for grabs. Orach has served on the city council since 1986.

Zuniga received 9,728 votes. Orach received 9,219 votes. Waterfield received 9,217 votes.
