The celebrations continue for Cuesta College's 50th anniversary.
Thursday students gathered on the soccer field to form a giant "50."
One person who attended, Arlene Chandler, was a teacher of social sciences at Cuesta when it first opened.
She shared some memories with KSBY, "I remember the day when we had our former presidents take shovels and turn over a few shovel-fulls of dirt; and that was the beginning for this campus."
Arlene said she was a teacher of social sciences when the college first opened. She eventually became the chair of Human Development.
