Daughter of DUI crash victim says driver's viral online confession is a painful reminder of her loss

(WCMH) The man who confessed in an online video to a fatal car crash appeared in court, pleading not guilty Wednesday.

Matthew Cordle, 22, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Cordle is accused of killing 61-year-old Vincent Canzani in a wrong-way crash on a Columbus interstate on June 22, 2013.

He will next appear in front of Judge David Fais on September 18, when he is expected to plead guilty. Cordle's attorneys said they will proceed with their client's wishes to plead guilty as soon as possible.

Angela Canzani, the victim's daughter, said that over the last few months, she's struggled to hold herself together, and that there is no moving on. What hasn't helped, she said, is the now-viral YouTube video and the confusion in the courtroom.

"Every time that anything happens...the whole thing makes the death of my father fresh. I feel like he's dead all over again. I keep hearing about the message, but people seem to forget a person is dead. A person is dead and nothing will change that," she said.
