Despite sunshine weekend looks cold

Most of the Central Coast will see freezing conditions to start each day over the weekend, frost advisories and freeze warnings are in place for the whole weekend. Daytime highs will not recover much only reaching the 50s for the coast and interior valleys will only reach the 40s and lower 50s.

Mid-week warming is expected with highs back in the 60s.

The reason for the cold-snap is a sharp trough in the jetstream which has allowed air from the highest latitudes to drop into California.

No precipitation is expected over the weekend, and the advisories for high surf will drop late overnight and the coastal flood watch will drop Saturday morning at 11am. It'll still be quite a high tide on Saturday morning, near 7 feet, so use caution around the beaches and breakwaters.
