Eagles soar behind Cherry to sweep Morro Bay, stay unbeaten in league

The Eagles fired off 18 aces, 11 of them from Henri Cherry, as the Templeton boys volleyball team swept Morro Bay in a Los Padres League match on Tuesday. The Eagles won 25-18, 25-13 and 25-15 to improve to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in LPL action as they continue their quest for their first-ever league title.

Cherry also led the Eagles with 13 kills. Jordan Scully added 7 kills and Tobey Isbell added 6 more. Eric Lahargou dished out 29 assists.

Templeton started the week ranked #10 in the CIF Division 4 coaches poll. The Eagles play Orcutt Academy on Thursday before hosting Santa Ynez next Tuesday.

Cody Cohen led Morro Bay with 8 kills and 7 blocks. Jackson Chavez recorded 7 kills, while Chad Porter added 5 kills and Xavier Alfaro tallied 4 kills and 15 assists.
