Eagles sweep: Templeton, AG boys volleyball move closer to league titles

The Arroyo Grande and Templeton boys volleyball teams remained perfect in league play with sweeps on Tuesday night.

The defending Pac 7 League champion AG Eagles swept rival San Luis Obispo 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15. Arroyo Grande improved to 5-0 in league and 12-0 overall. They host St. Joseph next Tuesday.

Jack Empey dished out 35 assists for AG. Cameron Arnet led the Eagles with 12 kills, while Andrew Midyett added 6 kills to go with 6 blocks and Wyatt Bishop tallied 7 kills and 5 blocks. Shea McSorley led the Tigers with 6 kills. SLO dropped to 2-3 in league and 6-4 overall.

Templeton beat Santa Ynez in three-straight games. The Pirates stretched the Eagles in the second game, but Templeton pulled it out 26-24 before taking the third 25-20. The Eagles are 5-0 in league as they search for their first-ever LPL title. They can clinch it on Thursday at Santa Maria.
