The streak has reached 100. The Arroyo Grande High girls water polo team beat Righetti 14-5 in the Pac 7 League championship game on Friday night. The victory gave the Eagles their 10th-straight league title and 100th-straight league victory. Head coach Steven Allen's team has not lost a league game since 2003.
Alexis Elias led the Eagles with 6 goals and Brookyln VanderVeen added 5 more. Kelsey Docouto added 3 more. Goalie Hannah Wadlow recorded 7 saves for AG.
The Eagles led 4-1 after the first quarter and scored the first three goals of the second quarter before Kaybree Albright scored twice to make it a 7-3 game. The Eagles dominated the second half though to secure the win.
Earlier in the day, Atascadero edged rival Paso Robles 8-7 to claim third place. The Bearcats thought they scored the tying goal at the buzzer, but referees ruled the shot was after the buzzer sounded.
The CIF playoff brackets will be released on Sunday.
