A late-night medical aid call in the unincorporated area of Arroyo Grande turned into a stabbing Tuesday.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department Watch Commander Brian Hascal tells KBSY News Five Cities Fire and San Luis Ambulance responded to a medical call on Corralitos Road off of Lopez Drive around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
While fire and ambulance crews were on scene, a man who lives in the home became agitated and reportedly stabbed a paramedic in the back with a kitchen knife. The EMT had minor injuries and was treated.
Cmdr. Hascal says the man's mother was evacuated from the home as more law enforcement officials arrived.
The man remained inside his home through the night as officers continued to negotiate. K9 units were also called to the scene.
At this time, we're told by the SLO Co. Sheriff's Dept. that the man is still inside his home.
