After averaging 24 points in two road victories, Cal Poly forward Chris Eversley has been named the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior led all players in scoring in both games with 23 points at Cal State Northridge and 25 points at Hawaii last week. It marked the eighth and ninth times this season Eversley scored 20 or more points in a game.
The 6-7 forward hit a career-high 3 three pointers against the Matadors and made 8 of his 12 floor shots to go with 8 rebounds in an 81-61 win that delivered Cal Poly its first road win since December 29.
He poured in 25 points and 4 boards in a 64-61 win at Hawaii. He made 11 of his 18 floor shots. It marked the first time in two years Cal Poly won back-to-back road games.
The Mustangs are 10-6 and tied for third in the Big West. They close out the regular season this week at home with games on Thursday and Saturday nights.
