LEICESTER, England (AP) - On top of all of the indignities he suffered at the end of his life, it appears that England's King Richard the Third has suffered some more. People in the British city of Leicester have been parking on top of him.
More than 500 years after his death, the remains of the king have been found under a parking lot.
Researchers from a university say tests on the skeleton they found last year prove "beyond reasonable doubt" that the bones are those of the king. He died at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, and his remains have been missing for centuries.
He was the last British monarch to have died in battle.
And death was just the start of his problems. Historians trashed his reputation, accusing him of crimes including the murder of two of his nephews in the Tower of London.
Shakespeare depicted him as a hunchbacked usurper who left a trail of bodies on his way to the throne.
But others argue that the image is unfair, and that Richard's reputation was smeared by his successors.
