You can catch the world premiere of The Incredible JoJo Friday night.
The film was created by two locals, and they've been working on it for several years.
A mother takes her two children, JoJo and Avila, to visit their grandma in the woods. When the mom gets into a car accident on the way home, it's up to JoJo to take care of his baby sister. They escape a ravenous pack of wolves and have to survive mother nature.
The movie was filmed in parts of San Luis Obispo County, as well as San Diego, and the high sierras.
The filmmakers say hope it motivates kids outside and adventuring.
"We're gearing it toward parents who aren't worried about their kids falling from trees, they're worried their kids aren't going to climb trees. It's about turning off their screens and getting out to enjoy the world outside," said Brian Schmidt, the director of the film.
The Incredible JoJo premieres Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo. You can catch showings through next Thursday.
