Fire on Toro Creek Road grows to 40 acres

The fire burning off Highway 41 between Atascadero and Morro Bay has grown to 40 acres.

CAL FIRE says they are in full wildland fire dispatch.

They have helicopters, air tankers, fire crews, and at least a couple hundred firefighters responding.

No evacuations have been ordered yet, and firefighters are protecting homes and buildings in the area.

The fire started a little after 10 a.m. Friday off Highway 41, about two miles down Toro Creek Road.

Firefighters say Toro Creek Road at Summit Road has been closed off, but residents can still get in.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
