There's a new bill of rights in San Luis Obispo, for kids.
"First Five SLO" unveiled the 12 rights at Mountainbrook Church Friday.
The campaign for the SLO County Children's Bill of Rights has been three years in the making.
Community members and local youth have worked together to draft the rights.
"We thought we had all of the bill of rights and we had finished with them. We took them out to a couple elementary school children and they said we're not saying anything about friends and they said friends are important to us. So we added a right about friends," said First Five Executive Director Susan Hughes.
The bill of rights has been endorsed by the SLO County Health Commission, SLO County Office of Education, the United Way and the Santa Lucia School Board.
