Five area girls volleyball players named All-CIF

Five Central Coast girls volleyball players earned All-CIF First Team honors for their efforts in the fall. The CIF-Southern Section released its honor roll on Monday as determined by the Girls Volleyball Coaches' Selection Committee.
Arroyo Grande High's Millisa Morrow is an All-CIF pick in Division 2AA. The senior outside hitter led the league with 387 kills. She averaged 4.7 kills per game, fired off 90 aces and registered 190 digs. She helped guide the Eagles to a perfect 12-0 mark in league play for their first Pac 7 title since 2009. The Eagles finished the season 25-7 overall.
Templeton senior Carly Roth earned a spot on the Division 3A First Team. The senior middle blocker averaged 2.6 kills per game for the Eagles. She finished with 138 kills, 18 aces and 102 digs. Roth was instrumental in Templeton's historic season. The Eagles finished 22-12 overall and captured their first-ever Los Padres League title and advanced to the CIF quarterfinals.
Three Central coast players were honored in Division 5AA. Coast Union's Karla Soto earned a spot on the elite squad. The senior outside hitter helped the Broncos to a 15-9 overall record, second place finish in league and appearance in CIF. Coastal Christian's Leslie Henry and JoAnn Lindstaedt were named All-CIF for the second-straight year. Henry , a senior middle, paced her league-champion squad with 341 kills and 59 blocks. Coastal Christian finished the season 26-2, league champions and CIF semifinalists. Lindstaedt dished out 500 assists on the season, which came down to about 6.5 assists per game.
Last season, six girls volleyball players from the Central Coast, including Henry and Lindstaedt, earned All-CIF First Team honors.
