Four Royals are 1st Team All-State

Four of the 30 selections for the MaxPreps Division-4 All-State First Team are from Mission Prep. Quarterback Tyler Baty, wide receiver Joey Hall, defensive lineman Andrew DaRosa and linebacker Andrew DeSesa were chosen by the popular high school sports website. The quartet of seniors helped lead the Royals to an 11-2 finish and appearance in the Northeast Division Championship.

Baty threw for 2,979 yards with 45 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions, he also rushed for three touchdowns.

Hall had 60 receptions for 1,365 yards and 24 touchdowns.

DaRosa had 84 tackles, 6 sacks, 7 fumbles caused and 4 fumble recoveries from the defensive tackle position.

DeSesa had 108 tackles, he committed to Brown University of the Ivy League last week.

Mission Prep had the second most selections on the First Team, only Central Catholic in Modesto had more with five. MaxPreps selected an All-State Second Team.

Lompoc junior defensive lineman Ainuu Taua was named to the Division-2 Second Team.
