Frost and freeze advisories one again

Clear skies and light winds will produce another very cold night for the Central Coast and interior valleys.

The Central Coast is in a frost advisory from 2 am to 9 am Friday.

Temperatures will fall to between 28 and 32 degrees across wind sheltered locations late tonight into early
Friday morning.

Frost can cause damage to sensitive plants if left uncovered outdoors.

A frost advisory means that frost is imminent. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

That advisory also covers the Santa Ynez valley, the only change from last night is that the Southcoast is not in the advisory area.

The Cuyama valley in in a freeze warning which means the temps will drop below 28 degrees for an extended time which introduces an even greater threat to plants.

Please don't forget about animals left out in the cold. Cold air can also burst unprotected pipes.
