The Central Coast community stepped up to help a Los Osos teenager in need.
18-year-old Holly Navolt recently underwent double-lung transplant surgery.
She has cystic fibrosis, a condition that causes a person's lungs to deteriorate over time.
Two fundraisers held for her on May 22, a hike in Huasna Valley and a dinner at Morro Bay High School, raised enough money to cover close to a quarter of Holly's recovery care costs.
An email to KSBY News read: "Holly would like to extend a special thank you to her own, Morro Bay High School and the Bay Osos Kiwanis, for the benefit dinner and auction they worked so tirelessly on, ensuring tremendous results. Holly also thanks all those who helped to organize the hike in Huasna; the sponsors, vendors, participants and volunteers, all of whom contributed to a very successful, fun filled day."
For those who missed the opportunity to support these past two fundraisers, there will be another event put on by the Los Osos CDF and Rexall Drug in Los Osos.
It will be a BBQ, held Saturday, June 19, from 10:00am-5:00pm at Rexall Drug located at 989 Los Osos Valley Road.
There will be music, firetrucks and tri-tip sandwiches for $10 a ticket.
