This weekend, the San Luis Obispo Symphony is hosting the Grammy nominated soprano Ava Pine.
For her Central Coast debut, she'll be performing traditional opera music by Brahms and Mozart, as well as a newer composition based on poetry sung in three languages.
"It's a two-pronged approach," explains Pine. "Actually, I think that's what keeps classical music interesting, is the new stuff that gets to come in and color and season the base that we've established over hundreds and hundreds of years."
Opera News says Pine "sails sweetly through a vast range of pitches."
The concert is Saturday evening at 8 at the Performing Arts Complex on the Cal Poly campus. For tickets and more information, just go to the ksby.com home page and click on "links."
