Behind 11 three-point buckets and a 28 point fourth quarter, the Greyhounds ran by North County rival Templeton 79-49 in a non-league game on Thursday night in Atascadero.
The Atascadero boys improved to 4-5 under first year head coach Matt Knudson, while the Eagles dropped to 4-3.
Atascadero led 16-11 after the first quarter and 34-24 at the half. But the Hounds outscored Templeton 28-14 in the fourth quarter to run away with the game. It marked Atascadero's seventh-straight win over the Eagles.
Joe Johnson led the Hounds with 15 points and 4 steals. Junior Robbie Berwick, who had two triple-doubles last week, finished with 14 points and 9 assists. Jared Studeman added 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Templeton fell behind 9-2 early in the game, but closed it to within two points in the second quarter.
Andy Garretson led the Eagles with 23 points, while Alex Elterman added 11.
Templeton opens Los Padres League play at home next week with a game Tuesday against Lompoc, followed by a game with surging Santa Maria on Thursday.
