Anyone who has ever visited Hearst Castle knows in spring you can smell the beautiful oranges and orange blossoms as you work your way up the Enchanted Hill. Well this year, local families struggling with grocery bills were able to enjoy all the fruit that grows on those trees.
Crews at Hearst Castle started harvesting the fruit in February and so far have sent four large shipments to the SLO Foodbank, through their program called GleanSLO. So far the castle has sent over 4,541 pounds.
