Hearst Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon wins Double Gold

There are a lot of wine competitions out there, but the San Francisco Chronical competition is considered one of the biggies, calling it the largest competition of American wines in the world. That means Steve Hearst, Jim Saunders and the gang at Hearst Ranch Winery are likely pretty excited about having their 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon honored with a double gold there.

Wines are awarded as Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Double Gold. Double gold means a unanimous vote for gold by the judges.

Unfortunately, the 2010 vintage hasn't hit the tasting room yet, but stay tuned. You can count

Other local winners include Alapay Cellars, Alta Colina, Hope Family Vineyards, Aron Hill Vineyards, Peacock Cellars and JLohr. For a complete list of the SF Chronical competition results, click here.
