Surf is expected to build between 10-14 feet with local sets to 17 feet through Wednesday along the Central Coast. This will be the first of three northwest swell events through Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. Most of these swell events will continue through Tuesday night. Large surf will hit the west and northwest facing beaches from Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo County, including the Channel Islands. The high surf will likely produce strong rip currents and beach erosion. Watch for sneaker waves. High surf will likely persist through Saturday. Storm force winds are expected to generate seas over 50 feet northwest of the Hawaiian Islands Monday through Tuesday. These swells will begin to move near shore Thursday night and Friday, subsiding on Saturday.
