Voters in both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties favored re-electing President Barack Obama over voting for Republican challenger Mitt Romney, unofficial election night results show.

In San Luis Obispo County, which has 147 precincts, President Obama received 49 percent of the vote, compared to Romney's 48 percent.

In Santa Barbara County, the margin is much wider with 57 percent of voters in 257 precincts choosing President Obama and 40 percent voting for Romney.
