Investigators say Washington Deputy shot in-laws

GIG HARBOR, Wash. (AP) - A Pierce County sheriff's spokesman says a sheriff's deputy has shot his in-laws and barricaded himself in a Gig Harbor home.

Spokesman Ed Troyer said Friday night the father-in-law is
believed to be dead in the house. The mother-in-law was able to get out of the house and has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her condition was not immediately available late Friday night.

The spokesman says teenage children who had been in the house are out and safe. Troyer says the deputy he identifies as Allen Myron remains in the house. A Tacoma police SWAT unit has been called.

Troyer says the deputy had been on medical light duty for a year and a half and was cleared to come back to work three months ago. Myron is reportedly an 11-year department veteran.
