Jeff Williams of Williams Brothers' Market chain remembered this week on Central Coast

A lot of long-time central coast locals are mourning the loss of a community leader this week. Jeff Williams was killed earlier this month when the motorcycle he was riding on highway 154 was hit by a SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy.

Williams' family founded the grocery store chain Williams Brothers that started in Santa Maria and grew to 22 throughout the state. Williams met his wife Heidi at Cal Poly and had a dental practice in Arroyo Grande for the last 23 years.

His memorial was held this week at the Chapman Mansion in Shell Beach. Family members are asking that any donations be made to the PAC at Cal Poly or the Ultimate Frisbee Alumni Endowment #5649, P.O. Box 1137, San Luis Obispo, CA 93406.
