Four years after the crime, a jury has decided Lee Leeds was sane when he killed four people at Black Road Auto in Santa Maria back in 2008.
Leeds went on a shooting rampage at the Black Road Auto shop four years ago. He admitted he killed his father and three others but claimed he was insane at the time. After six weeks of testimony and evidence, the case went to the jury last Friday afternoon. They reached a decision late Wednesday afternoon.
Although the crime happened four years ago, it's still very fresh in the minds of the victims' families.
Leeds was led away this afternoon in handcuffs. He is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison. It was an emotional moment for the families some who have attended the trial almost every day.
"This has been the longest six weeks of my life. It's not going to bring my son back but it helps," said Kathy Carson,"
Leeds killed her son, Terry Majan who was in his 30s at the time. He also killed his own father Robert Leeds, as well as Dave Duboise, and Ricardo Leal.
Leeds will be back in court in July for official sentencing.
