The jury considering the fate of a former Lompoc prison guard charged with murder told the judge this morning it could not decide on a verdict.
The judge sent the jury back to the jury room to resume deliberations.
Timothy McNally was charged with fatally shooting another prison guard at a Lompoc hotel in 2012.
McNally said it was an accident. The prosecution says evidence shows it was murder.
